Verizon is bringing 5G to Sacramento and Shields has been selected as the installation team for the First Office Application (FOA). We will be installing 5G HUBS at four of first six designated CRAN HUB Site locations in the Sacramento, CA area.
Our team installed the first six CRAN HUB Sites in the United States in 2015 for Verizon Wireless in San Francisco and Santa Clara Counties in preparation for Super Bowl 50. To date, we have installed approximately 50 HUB Sites overseen by our own internal quality assurance team to ensure the highest level of quality.
In addition to deploying the CRAN Technology at designated Cell Sites, upgrading them to CRAN HUB Sites requires additional Site “Hardening”. CRAN HUB Sites are held to MSC Standards, rather than Cell Site Standards. Therefore, site upgrading and preparation work is typically required. These upgrades include increases in commercial power supply, replacement of the power plants, additional Battery Strings and/or the reconfiguration of existing Strings, generator replacements and upgrades in HVAC.

In addition, they are also doing OSP/ISP to get fiber path constructed from curb to shelter.
