Want to find out why we’re so keen to drive our internal talent and ensure our team have access to new opportunities before we go to the job market?
Read on to find out why internal talent is part of our DNA and more on our latest success story below.
One of our biggest motivators as a company is to really drive our internal talent to provide job satisfaction and progression opportunities for our team. Data shows that progression within the workplace is an essential motivator for many employees and contributes to a strong level of employee satisfaction and retention and a survey found that 58% of employees agreed. Progression has always been something we celebrate at Shields and we think that driving our inner talent, and ensuring that opportunities are available to our team before we go to market is principal.
We have found great success in our history, including our CEO, Daniel Jones who originally joined us here at Shields as a fresh-faced 21 year old charted accountant, and worked up the ranks to become our CEO after spending 10 years with us. As you can see this has been part of Shields’ DNA for some time now – people and the succession of our teams are always at the forefront of our organisation. This is why we’re delighted to announce our most recent example of this, with our internal promotion of Jairo Ostos to our new Global Techincal Director.
Jairo Ostos has progressed from UK Technical Operations Manager to our new Global Technical Director. Jairo has been with Shields for more than 11 years and has supported our Technical team across our test labs in Europe. Over the last 3 months, Jairo has taken on the responsibility of Technical Director and has been able to continue driving our standards across the business. We’re very excited about this internal progression and welcome Jairo to the Senior Management team, where he can continue to develop our Technical outputs.
